16 at war

16 years old and not a candle to blow out
It feels like the world is against me and only 1 person by my side
But only 2 people who will truly make me happy.

Growing up with horrible struggles that so few would ever know about
Most people think I am so perfect
But what I really am is the perfect imperfection.

I have a father but it seems like he’s not even their
Such a distant relationship that I can’t seem to explain
My mother who I love dearly is just seeming to fade away.

My boyfriend who I’m deeply in love with
He seems to fill me up with so much joy
He is that one person standing by my side as I live my prison life.

As I grow older I learn to trust nobody but myself
Only believing to move forward
And I’m finally accepting this tough love.

My future seems so bright
I just hope I have my loved ones witnessing this amazing outcome
Ill remember those who left me alone because they will be the one’s who will need me the most.

I just need to stay positive
I will take everything that life has to offer me
I will be happy and most definitely stay strong.

I will forever have love for my wonderful mother
Even though we hit those bumps on the road
She is helping me achieve my dreams and goals.

I’m realizing that I’m one amazing woman
Because of my mom who helped bring me to this world
I can’t thank her enough, I love you so much.


As young as I am I still have my eye on the prize
You’ve learned to love my mind, smile and style
Now you know the true definition of the best . . . and its ME!
